Yoga Teacher Training Course

A JIVA International Teacher Training Course that is certified with Yoga alliance providing you with 200 hours of Hatha, Vinyasa and Ashtanga Philosophy (500 hours and 1000 hours are available on demand).

This course provides sufficient knowledge and experience to become a successful yoga teacher. Suitable for yoga enthusiasts who would like to become yoga teachers or for those who wish to dive deep into the yogic lifestyle and spirituality. This course has been specifically designed by integrating theory and practice of Yoga (Yogasana). Maharishi Patanjali, the founder of yoga, prescribed guidelines that help practitioners to become happy and dynamic members of society. Therefore, the aim of the teachers at Jiva is to encourage students to imbibe these values in their daily lives.

Location: Vrindavan, India

The course takes place in Vrindavan (160 km from Delhi), a pilgrimage place located on the banks of the sacred river Yamuna.

Vrindavan is one of the seven sacred towns in India and well-known for the enchanting pastimes that were performed by Sri Krishna and the cowherd women (gopis) more than 5000 years ago.

Vrindavan is now a global town, where devotees from all over the world reside and enjoy its devotional charm.

Course Venue: Jiva Institute of Vedic Studies

The course is organised by the Jiva Institute, which is well known for its scholarly activities and promotion of Bhakti yoga and Vaishnava culture through a formal approach. Devotees from around the world visit Jiva Institute to study ancient Indian texts and philosophy.The course venue is pleasant and offers simple yet comfortable accommodation, along with convenient access to the main attractions and local markets.

Daily schedule: 200 Hours Yoga Teacher Training

Our Yoga Teacher Training program follows a well-planned schedule which is approximately 7 training hours daily which are assigned to learning different aspects of yoga.

Our daily schedule begins as early as 7 a.m. with a short meditation followed by yogic postures and classes in philosophy, anatomy, and physiology.

Students can enjoy excursions to nearby places in their free time. During the course, vegetarian meals suitable for a Yogic lifestyle will be served along with seasonal fruits and herbal tea. Home assignments are given to students during the course to enable them to cultivate insight into the subject.

Course Fee:

Our yoga teachers training (YTT) program is a residential course.

The fee of USD 1350 per person includes 25 nights of accommodations (private room with attached bathroom) and all vegetarian meals.

The registration fee is USD 200 (non-refundable advance) to be submitted along with the application.

Our Teachers: 

The yoga course is taught by highly qualified teachers under the guidance of Dr. Satyanarayana Dasa Babaji, the founder-director of Jiva Institute. Babaji is an authority on the six systems of Indian philosophy, which includes Sankhya and Yoga.

The teachers of this course have lived in Vrindavan for a long time and are familiar with the traditional Indian cultural values. They teach Vedic scriptures, such as the Bhagavad Gita, and the essence of various aspects of yoga. In addition, the teachers are available for exploring the surroundings of Vrindavan.

Dr. Satyanarayana Dasa Babaji

Satyanarayana Dasa Babaji

Born in India in 1954, Satyanarayana Dasa was drawn to the spiritual traditions of his native country from a young age. After receiving a postgraduate degree in 1978 from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi and working in the United States for four years, he returned to India, where he studied the formal systems of Indian philosophy known as Sad-darsana), under the direct guidance of his guru, Sri Haridas Sastri Maharaja, and Swami Sarana Maharaja. Satyanarayana Dasa was formally educated for more than twenty-five years, while he dedicated himself to becoming a bhakti-yoga practitioner. In 1991, he accepted the traditional Vaisnava order of a renounced life, babaji-vesa. His main focus has been the work of Jīva Gosvāmī. In particular, he has been translating the Sat Sandarbhas into English and providing commentary.

He also earned four shastric degrees and received both a law degree and a Ph.D. in Sanskrit from Agra University. Satyanarayana Dasa is the founder and director of the Jīva Institute of Vaishnava Studies in Vrindavan. He has authored eighteen books on Indian culture and philosophy and contributed several important essays to many prestigious journals. In 2013, he was honored by the president of India, Sri Pranab Mukherjee, for his extraordinary contribution in presenting Vedic culture and philosophy, both nationally and internationally.

Babaji’s deep knowledge of the Yogic texts and his experience of teaching the ancient wisdom of Patanjali Yoga to international and Indian scholars, is a special add on to this Yoga Teachers Training Course

Isha Devi

Isha Devi has been practicing yoga for 21 years and has been teaching Yoga for 17 years.  She started studying yoga in Russia under the guidance of her teacher Surya Das.

In 2022, she earned a Yoga Alliance certificate after completing 200 hours TTC with Yoga Master Acharya Devender at Aum Yoga Shala, Gurgaon, India.

Isha Devi  practices traditional yoga, ashtanga vinyasa yoga, kriya yoga, hatha yoga, pranayama and and meditation. She regularly conducts yoga training programs in Russia and India.

Andres Torres (Brahma Samhita Dasa)

Andres Torres (Brahma Samhita Dasa) was born in Manizales in 1983 into a family with yogic principles. This family dynamic would lead him to immerse himself in the life of service in the Yoga Ashram for more than 10 years. He studied Hatha Raja Yoga along the lines of Yogi Gupta, Vinyasa Yoga and Iyengar Yoga.

In 2010 he established Sarasvati Yoga and Ayurveda in the city of Medellín-Colombia, where he teaches 200hr, 500hr Yoga, Therapeutic Yoga, deepening courses in pranayama and meditation.

He is currently studying Sanskrit at the University of Barcelona, Spain.

And continuously he studies the Gaudiya Vedanta philosophy under the guidance of his Guru, Sri Satyanarayana Dasa Babaji Maharaj, who honourably presents the Vedanta philosophy in the line of the Gosvamis of Sri Vrindavan Dham.

Esteban Beltrán

Esteban was born in Medellin Colombia. He is a Hatha Vinyasa Yoga practitioner since 2017, and a Yoga teacher at Sarasvati Yoga School, Colombia, where he was certified with the 200 and 500 Hour Yoga Training.

He has also completed the Bhagavad Gita course in 2022.

Currently, he studies Bhakti Yoga under the guidance of Brahma Samhita.

His classes are characteristically energetic and adaptive to all levels of experience

Jaya Devi

Jaya Devi is the co-coordinator of the yoga course and serves as a friendly mentor for all the students at Jiva Institute.

She also coordinates the extracurricular activities in and around Vrindavan.

She has been living in India for the past 20 years, earned a PhD in Sanskrit and has good knowledge of the Indian spiritual heritage.
